Silicon Strontium (SiSr) Inoculant is a kind of inoculant based on ferrosilicon. It is mainly used as casting inoculant and is the most effective element to promote inoculation.
Features:
1. The quantity of eutectic cell won't be increased dramatically when chilling reduced. Therefore, casting loose tendency which increased due to inoculation will be reduced and compactness and anti-capacity of castings will be improved.
2. Good section uniformity and recession-proof ability.
3. Low melting point, high solubility, low calcium, little slag and low inoculation temperature is allowed.
4. Little quantity added but significant inoculation effect.
Application
1. It is used in thin wall parts which have requirements for dispersed shrinkage and bleeding and uneven thickness castings such as piston ring, air conditioner compressor parts, cylinder block and head, etc.
2. New inoculant which applies to foundry production. It can be used as inoculants as gray iron and ductile iron castings and has significant effect on improving the mechanical property of casting products.
Silicon Strontium (SiSr) is an alloy that combines silicon and strontium elements. It is commonly used in the metallurgical industry as an inoculant or nodulizer in the production of ductile iron.
SiSr alloy helps to promote the formation of graphite nodules in the iron, improving its mechanical properties, such as strength and ductility. It also reduces the formation of undesirable graphite structures, such as flakes or compacted graphite, which can lead to lower mechanical performance.
The addition of Silicon Strontium to molten iron helps to control the formation of graphite nodules, resulting in a more uniform and spherical structure. This enhances the cast iron's ability to resist stress and improves its overall machinability.
SiSr alloy can be added to the molten iron during different stages of the casting process, depending on the desired effect and the specific requirements of the application. The composition of SiSr alloy can vary depending on the manufacturer and the application, but it typically contains a higher percentage of silicon and a lower percentage of strontium.
Overall, Silicon Strontium (SiSr) is an important alloy in the production of ductile iron, contributing to improved mechanical properties and ensuring high-quality castings.
